At Modern Concrete & Materials, we offer our customers a variety of concrete mix designs, and can also customize a mix design specific to your project. All materials used comply with the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM) standards.
Compressive Strengths & Concrete Mix Designs
The compressive strength of concrete is measured in pounds per square inch (PSI). A higher PSI means the concrete mixture is stronger, more durable, and often lasts longer. Depending upon the project, climate, and other structural requirements, we’ll make a recommendation for the ideal concrete for your project.
3,000 PSI - concrete for driveways, patios, and sidewalks
3,500 PSI - concrete for slab foundations and footings
4,000 PSI - concrete for warehouse and factories where heavy traffic or machinery is expected
5,000 PSI - concrete for large-scale, commercial and industrial construction and can withstand heavy impact and high-traffic usage
HES Concrete - fast setting concrete with rapid strength gain, ideal for high traffic highways, roadways, and sidewalks
Flowable Fill - self-leveling, self-compacting concrete, ideal for backfilling trenches, voids, and encasing pipes/conduits
Stabilized Sand - adds reinforcement to poor draining, weak or fine soil for added strength and stability
A-1 limestone base
⅜” pea gravel
