Built on a Foundation of Quality

Concrete takes 28 days to cure and our family has been pouring it for over 28 years. But time in business means nothing if quality isn’t a daily practice. The foundation we’ve built will stand the test of time because of our commitment to the details.

Family Matters

Doug Almond founded Quality Concrete & Materials in 1997 to hold the industry to a higher standard. More than a decade after Doug sold the business, his son Trent founded his own company: Modern Concrete & Materials.

With a modern twist on his father’s mission, he sought to improve quality through technology. In a full-circle moment, Trent acquired Quality’s assets in 2022, bringing employees back to the place they say, “feels like home.”

The Modern family.

Serving the Community We Call Home

Southeast Texas isn’t just a place of operation — it’s where children are raised, values are instilled, and legacies will be passed on. It is an honor and a privilege to build the foundations that our friends and neighbors will build their lives upon.

To keep the Golden Triangle a golden place to live, we proudly support local causes and charity events in our community.

How We’ve Grown

While we’ll never outgrow our promise of quality, we’ve outgrown our humble roots. From three employees to over one-hundred, we have more people on deck to deliver on our promise.

Looking Ahead

We’re proud of our history and how we’ve modernized for the future of concrete. An industry as old as civilization itself demands more flexible, efficient solutions for the projects of tomorrow.

We look ahead with the “Modern Mindset” of making each project better than the last by continuing to invest in the people and technology that keep us safe, on schedule, and best in class.
